Gary Waltz

Gary Lee Waltz, age 73, of Kalamazoo and formerly of Battle Creek, passed away on March 26, 2022 at Medilodge of Westwood. He was born in Battle Creek on April 18, 1948, the son of Eber and Phyllis (Gordon) Waltz. Gary was a 1966 graduate of Galesburg High School, and attended KVCC, MTU and graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s in engineering. He moved to the Houston/Dallas, Texas area and later returned to Kalamazoo MI.  Gary proudly served in the United States Marine corps serving as a Staff sergeant during the Vietnam war. He enjoyed comic books, attending renaissance festivals and was an avid Sci-Fi reader. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and stepfather, William “Dick” Rogers. He is survived by his daughter, LeeAnne (Cameron) White of Kalamazoo, Brothers, Tom (Jan) Waltz of Hickory Corners, MI., Greg Waltz of Allegan, MI., Sister, Nancy (Jim) Rose of Battle Creek, and former wife, SueAnne Grosvenor of Battle Creek. Memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Friday, April 8 ^th , 2022 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wings of Hope Hospice Care.
