Gary A. Orr, age 79, of Battle Creek, passed away on November 27, 2021 at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born on December 13, 1941 in Havre, Montana, the son of Roger and Muriel (Sletten) Orr. Gary graduated from Havre High School in 1959, and moved to Battle Creek from Helena, Montana in 1985. He previously worked as a journeyman electrician for the railroad, managed several Albertson Stores and then worked as chief medical administration for the VA Hospitals in Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, Des Moines, IO, Helena, MT and retired from the Battle Creek location. He was a member of the Battle Creek Eagles Lodge #299. Gary enjoyed golfing, going to the casino, and was an avid Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees fan. Gary loved spending quality time and making memories with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Gail Charambeau, infant son Roger Allen; and mother in law; Patricia Knell. Gary met the love of his life in 1986 and was united in marriage on May 12, 2004 in Las Vegas to Victoria Quinn-Knell, she survives. Also surviving are his children; Jeffrey (Kathy) Orr of Rivertown, UT, Marcy Morris of Maple Valley, WA, Anthony Orr of Boise, ID, Kristin Orr of Boise, ID, Andrea (Casey) Guehl and Crystal (David) McCormick, father-in-law; Richard C. Knell, all of Battle Creek, fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a sister Joan Wangler of Silverton, OR. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2021 at the funeral home, Pastor James Codde officiating. Interment to follow service at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will then gather at the Eagles Lodge and friends are invited. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eagles Lodge # 299 or Humane Society of South Central Michigan.
