Frank Paul Wilcox, 48, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012 at home in Fallbrook, CA after a long illness. He was born March 23, 1964 in Tacoma, WA., the son of Frank Pratt Wilcox Jr., of Fishers, IN and the late Sandra "Sandy" L. Thrasher of Battle Creek. Frank graduated from Harper Creek High School in 1982, after which he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served as a Medical Field Service Technician and Surface Force Independent Duty Corpsman in Hawaii, Japan, Kuwait and Camp Pendleton, CA. He also participated in Operation Desert Storm. During Frank’s military career, he was awarded the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal with Bronze Star, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Navy Fleet Marine Force Ribbon, Combat Action Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with Bronze Star, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, and Navy Achievement Medal. During the early 2000s, Frank served as an Adjutant Instructor at Maric College, now known as Kaplan College in San Marcos, CA teaching Anatomy and Physiology. He was praised by his students and they respected him greatly. Frank is survived by Kier Wilcox, 18, and his betrothed Sherrie Bradstreet, both of Fallbrook, CA, his father, sisters Paula (Ron) Asher of Springfield, Melissa (Ron) France of Marshall and brother, Christopher (Cate) Wilcox of Battle Creek and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 4:00 p.m. Burial with Full Military Honors will take place at 9:30 a.m., July 23, 2012 at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, CA. Frank is loved by many and will be missed each and every moment. The love and joy he brought into the lives of people who knew him can never be replaced. He was a wonderful person, an amazing father and will forever be in our hearts. We love you Frank
