Frances Chapman

Frances Chapman, born on May 22, 1937, in Wyandotte, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024, in Battle Creek, Michigan. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she dedicated her life to nurturing her family as a stay-at-home mother. Frances graduated from Wyandotte High School as part of the class of 1957.

In her younger years, Frances enjoyed simple pleasures, such as horse and buggy rides with her beloved husband, James Chapman. Together, they created a warm and loving home, a place where family was always the center of her universe. Frances had a vibrant passion for cooking and was often found watching her favorite cooking shows. Her culinary talents and heartfelt meals brought joy to countless family gatherings.

Frances leaves behind a legacy of love through her Daughter Minda Chapman Martin, Sons; John (Tammy) Chapman and Jim (Terrie) Chapman. She is also survived by her Grandchildren: Mike Martin, David Chapman, Jimmy (Val) Chapman , Jesse (Candice) Chapman, Chad (Ashley) Chapman, and Travis (Ashley) Chapman, Stephanie Martin Clay, and Chelsea (Lance) Faulk. Her family continued to grow, as she cherished her role as a grandmother to 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, James Chapman; her Parents, John and Pietrina (DeSantas) LaFata; Sister Jenny Buindo; Brother Vincent LaFata; Grandson Justin Peters, and Great-Granddaughter Ally Gates.

The visitation will be held on November 8, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM at Richard A Henry Funeral Home in Battle Creek, MI. Frances's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. www.henryfuneralhome.org
