Florence Wright

Florence Wright, age 91, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born April 9, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Michigan the daughter of Frederick and Theressa (VanDerMeer) Kornoelje. Florence loved flower gardening and simply being with her family. She was a member of Covenant Hope Church and the Sunshine Club. On October 7, 1952 she was married to Joseph E. Wright and he preceded her in death on April 20, 2018. She was also preceded by two sons: Douglas J. Wright and Thomas Lee Wright. Florence is survived by a son, Larry (Vickie) Wright of Battle Creek; daughter in law, Kim Wright of Battle Creek; five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; two brothers: Jim Kornoelje and Dave Kornoelje both of Battle Creek and many nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
