Florence F. (Forbush) Vosburg, Age 106, Of Battle Creek, Died Friday, October 11, 2013. She was born in Scotts, Michigan to Adelbert and Jennie (Martin) Forbush and lived in this area all of her life. After graduating from Scotts High School in 1924, she earned a Life and B.S. degree in teaching from Western Michigan University. She also attended the University of Wisconsin and received a Kellogg Foundation Scholarship to Mankato Teachers College. Mrs. Vosburg taught in Climax Public School for eight years and in 1934 joined the faculty at Lakeview Consolidated Schools, where she taught for nine years. In 1937 she married Lawrence L. Vosburg who preceded her in death in 1987. She was a member of the Michigan and National Education Associations and the Battle Creek Area Retired School Personnel. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, the Centennial Circle and the Battle Creek Women’s Social Club. She was a Camp Fire Girls Leader for many years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, playing bridge and her yard and flower gardens. At age 90 she was awarded the Beautiful Battle Creek Award for Property Maintenance and Beautification. She had one brother, Gardner Forbush who died in 1963. Surviving is a nephew, David L. (Sandra) Forbush of Mendon and one great nephew, Lee (Leslie) Forbush; great niece, Sheramy Forbush and great great nieces, Abagaill and Katelin Forbush; special caregivers, Marji and Lyn. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
