Evelyn F. Hudson, Age 93, Of Battle Creek, Died November 17, 2013 at Bronson Battle Creek. Evelyn was born on January 21, 1920, in Bronson, MI, the daughter of Vincent A. and Josephine M. (Adamski) Wotta. She had been an area resident since 1955 coming from Coldwater, MI. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Bronson. On June 25, 1938, she was united in marriage to Walter R. Hudson who preceded her in death on November 4, 2010. Evelyn was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, designed and made vestments and baptismal garments for 10 years, was a first grade teacher for several years at St. Joseph School, was a cook at the Rectory for Fr. Wheeler, was a member of the Women’s Guild, the church funeral choir, Church Women United, was appointed as Representative at the VA Medical Center, was a member of the National Catholic Community Services and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Surviving is a son, Dr. Jack/ Jacek A. Haciak of Salem, Oregon; 2 grandchildren, Yvonne Patrice Kessel and Rev. SR. Calista Eke; 4 great grandchildren and 13 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 sons, James, Patrick and Mark Hudson and a brother, Fabian Wotta. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home from 5 to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m., November 22, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with The Very Rev. Mark J. Vyverman V.F., officiating. Inurnment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater, MI. Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church. www.henryfuneralhome.org
