Eugene F. Younglove

Eugene (Gene) Younglove was called to his heavenly home on Sunday, Mar 26, 2023.  Gene was born on December 8, 1941.  His parents were Margherite and Jack Younglove, who preceded him in death.  Gene graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and joined the Air Force.  He served as a jet aircraft mechanic and took those skills to be a mechanic at various companies, Clark Equipment being the main company where Gene was employed as a CNC machinist.

Gene is remembered by his wife of 46 years, Helen Younglove, brother Gerald (Barbara) Younglove.  He is also survived by his children: Joy(John) Dossey, Brian Younglove, Jill (Tom) Bolhuis.  Gene was a very proud grandparent to Tyler (Avery) Bolhuis, Seth (Maddie) Bolhuis and Kyanne Bolhuis.  He was even more proud of his great grandchildren: Henry James, Hazel Grace and Alan Joseph.

Gene was a long time member of the Lapeer County Chapter of Pheasants Forever in Lapeer County, Michigan, where he helped guide and educate young hunters develop their skills. He worked on habitat projects as well as working at the yearly banquets. Gene made many great friends during his membership and kept them throughout the remainder of his life. Gene loved hunting and loved his dogs; he must have had at least 25 dogs that he trained and developed to run and hunt. He really enjoyed being in a field with his dogs.

Gene was also an oil artist, painting landscapes and dog scenes for family and friends during his life. To receive one of his paintings was to receive a prestigious gift.  Celebration of Life to be held April 15, 2023 at 11:00 am at Cornerstone Community Church on 3030 Beckley Road, Battle Creek.  In lieu of flowers please send donations to the family.
