Eugene F. “Red” Miller, age 88, passed away September 1, 2018, at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility, surrounded by his loving family. Eugene “Red” was born October 5, 1929. He graduated from Battle Creek Central in 1948. It was there that he met the love of his life, Beverly Perry. They were married in 1948. They shared 61 years of marriage until her passing in 2009. Red was employed by Eaton Corporation in Battle Creek from 1948 to 1982 when he retired. He also, worked part time for Lakeview Lounge and Speeds Coffee Shop. Red was a hard working man who loved spending time with his family and friends. Special times were spent up north in Irons, bass tournament fishing, fishing trips with his sons, hunting, snowmobiling, golfing and bowling in many leagues. During his lifetime he belonged to, the Masonic Lodge, Shriners where he drove Minnie T’s in various parades, Elks B.P.O.E., American Legion 298, S.A.L. and PNA Club. Red is survived by his children, Craig (Karen) Miller, Jimmy Miller and Brian (Joy) Miller; grandchildren, Shelly (Mark) Russell, Shawn (Bridget) Miller, Loree ( Brian) Lingis, Matt (Sarah) Miller, Jim (Angela) Miller, Derek (Katie) Miller, Abby (Glen) Hegstrand and Kevin (Marissa) Miller; twelve great grandchildren, with one on the way. Red was preceded in death by his wife, parents, Grace and Walter Townsend and Gladys and Jim Vosburgh; and a half brother, Don Davis. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 6, from 5 to 7:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 7, 2018, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Memorials may be made to the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility Activities Fund. www.henryfuneralhome.org
