Esther Page Halbert, 92, of Bedford Twp. passed away Wednesday January 22, 2014 at her home. She was born on April 1, 1921 in Grand Haven, MI to Jefferson A. and Ida (Hoffmeister) Page.
Esther graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1939 and Argubright School of Business in Battle Creek. She married Frederick Pierce Halbert on March 5, 1943, he preceded her in death on February 6, 1998.
Esther is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Ron) Bowley, of LaGrange, KY and Kay H. Nelson, of Plainwell, MI; her sons, Frederic L. (Galina) Halbert, of Dowling and Mark (Christy) Halbert, of Battle Creek,; sisters, Helen Dolan-Wise, of Kalamazoo, and Beverly McQuoid, of Clearwater, FL; eleven grandchildren, Stephanie Halbert, Kristen Austin, Dr. Lisa Halbert, Sara Callahan, Andrew W. Church, Sarah, Allison, and Jennifer Halbert, Chase, Grant, and Alexandra, Nelson, four great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Zande, a brother, Col. Leslie L. Page.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A private Graveside Service will take place at Bedford Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Redemption Lutheran Church or Leila Arboretum Society
