Esther F. Fox, age 98, of Battle Creek, passed away on September 15, 2017. She was born on May 4, 1919 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Floyd and Florence (DeFriest) Banks. Esther was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School in 1937, and was a lifelong area resident. She was married on November 3, 1937 to Grover M. Rausch, he preceded her in death in 1995, and later she married James Fox on June 8, 1996. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church. Esther enjoyed sewing and knitting, camping, bowling and was a member of the PTA, Camp Fire and Blue Bird Leader, and a Room Mother. She preceded in death by her parents; Floyd and Florence Banks, brother; Paul F. Banks, sisters; Emmajune Shook and Meridine Nelson. Surviving are her husband; James Fox of Battle Creek, son; Morris G. Rausch of Kissimmee, Florida, daughter; Janis E. Prentice of Battle Creek, sister; Virginia Wieland of Douglas, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the funeral home with Reverend Robert G. Muirhead officiating, Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
