Eric Eisen, age 92, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at The Reflections. He was born September 25, 1923 in Gross Nappern, Germany the first of five children of Albert and Marie (Rex) Eisen and sailed to the US with his family in 1925. They settled in Watervliet, Michigan where he graduated from High School. Eric served in the US Army during WWII from March 1943 to February 1946 and moved to Battle Creek following his discharge. He then served in the Air National Guard from February 1951 to January 1952. Prior to his retirement in 1978, he worked at the V.A. Medical Center for over 30 years. He attended Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, was an active member of the Boy Scouts as a scout leader for over 15 years and received the George Award in 2007. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and traveling; and was a life member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and A.A.R.P. Eric married Lois Davis on December 31, 1946 and they had two sons: Eric (Eiko) Eisen and David (Diane) Eisen. Lois preceded him in death in 1985 and he later married Laura June Eisen in 1987 and received two daughters: Pat (Bruce) Kronlein and Jane (Doug) Baker. Eric is survived by his four children; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters: Eleonore Fish and Dorothy Saltzman and brother, Ozzie Eisen. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois; second wife, Laura June in 2014, his parents and one brother, Herbert Eisen. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
