Ennid Halonen

Ennid Helen Halonen, age 90, of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 at The Heritage Assisted Living Community. She was born September 1, 1921 in Rudyard, Michigan the daughter of Andrew Clyde and Florence Bertha (Flynn) Johnson. Ennid met her husband, Raymond while in grade school, they were married on May 3, 1941 and they remained together until his passing in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her son: Richard Halonen in 1991, two brothers: Andrew Clyde Johnson, Jr. and Lee Johnson, sister: Lorraine Cornwell and her parents. She is survived by two children: Rodney J. (Susan) Halonen of Battle Creek and Teresa A. (Nick) Halonen-Dusic of Cloverdale, Oregon; daughter in law: Joann Jennings of Walled Lake; eight Grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Ennid loved nature, gardening bird watching, fabric arts and cookie making, but most of all spending time with family. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Westlake Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alice McDowell officiating. Private interment will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the church.
