Elizabeth M. “Betty” Komarck, Age 93, Of Battle Creek, Died Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. Betty was born on December 15, 1922, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Arthur C. and S. Marie (Schoen) Messenger. She had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Battle Creek Central. On October 23, 1943, she was united in marriage to Michael “Mickey” Komarck, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2013. Betty was employed in the billing department with Consumers Power for 30 years retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, taking bus trips, square dancing and being with her family and friends. Surviving is a son, Michael (Cheryl) Komarck, Jr. of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Michael J. (Jennifer) Komarck and Dennis R. (Deanna) Komarck; great grandchildren, Zachary, Logan and Reese; a sister, Carrie Karnes of Grand Rapids, MI. She was preceded in death by brothers, Arthur Lewis, Holton, Jerry and Dennis Messenger. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
