Edna Jean Wilson

Edna Jean (Sanders) Wilson was born on April 19, 1961, to Ethel and Annie Sanders in Senatobia, Mississippi.  Her family moved to Battle Creek, MI, where she attended Battle Creek Public Schools.

Edna departed her life on March 22, 2024.  She is proceeded in death by her father, Ethel Sanders, her mother, Annie Sanders, and her brothers Joe Willie Sanders, Fred Sanders, O.D. Sanders, and William “Bo” Sanders.  She leaves to cherish her memories to her son Durand Wilson; her grandchildren Airianna Wilson, Aviana Wilson, and Akayliana Wilson; her sister Mary Ann (Mansure) Muhammad; her brothers Ethel (Tajwana) Sanders and Clyde (DeAndra Sanders); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.

Edna had a huge heart (of gold) and would do anything for anyone at any time. She was a true caregiver and enjoyed being in that role.  Her favorite color was purple. She loved going bowling, renting cars for taking weekend trips, and listening to old school R&B songs.  Most of all, she loved her family and friends, and simply being in the presence of those she loved – especially her grandkids, nieces, nephews, all the kids! She will be dearly missed.
