Edna W. Jasienski, age 97, formerly of Battle Creek, passed away on September 16, 2018 at MediLodge of East Lansing. She was born on August 2, 1921 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Eugene and Weta (Lewis) Lyttle. Edna graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1940 and received her Associates Degree from Kalamazoo College. She was united in marriage on June 26, 1941 in Battle Creek, to Joseph A. Jasienski. Edna was previously employed by Eaton Manufacturing in Battle Creek, WK Kellogg Junior High, and Battle Creek Central High School where she worked in the cafeteria for 19 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Dorcas Circle, Harmony Extension Group, Eaton’s Retirees Group, United Women’s Group, and was thirty years in the Lakeview Lions Club. She enjoyed sewing and painting on sweatshirts in her free time. Edna was preceded in death by her husband; Joseph A. Jasienski in 2004, daughters; Jacquelyn Anne Fuller, Judith Maystead, Janice Blanton, Toni Towns, granddaughter; Carol Anne LeClear and a grandson; Scott Victor Blanton. Surviving are her nephews; Pondale “Pete” Petroff of Coldwater, Frank Jasienski and John Brisson both of Marshall, eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In accordance to her wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church, with inurnment to follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
