Edna May Edgerton, age 88, of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Battle Creek Manor. She was born May 29, 1927 in Jonesville, Michigan the daughter of Fred and Ida (Adair) Beckman. Edna worked at Michigan Bell, Kellogg’s and the Battle Creek Enquirer and News prior to her retirement. She was a former member of the Battle Creek Bible Church and Urbandale Baptist Church, and enjoyed reading and sewing. On June 24, 1951 she was married to Gerald D. Edgerton in Cambria, Michigan and he preceded her in death on April 12, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son Jack, sister Faye and five brothers: Richard, Otto, Glenn, Ray and Carl. Edna is survived by her son: Randy (Nancy) Edgerton of Bellevue; daughter-in-law: Gayle Edgerton of Grayling; four grandchildren: Amber Hodgson, Kara Edgerton, Andrea Burgess and Derek Edgerton, and five great-grandsons. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
