Edda Zanetti, Age 80, Of Battle Creek, Went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Edda was born in Fanna, Italy, on October 2, 1933, the daughter of Edgidio and Teresa Furlanis. She had been a resident of the area since 1955 coming from Fanna, Italy. In Bourmouth, England in 1954, she was united in marriage to Carlo Zanetti, who survives. Edda was a seamstress for several years at Robinson’s Department Store; she then stayed at home to raise her family. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed bingo, going to the casino with her family being all together, sewing and cooking big Sunday dinners for her boys and playing card games afterward. Mom also loved going to Windsor, Canada with her family to go Italian grocery shopping. She was a great cook and in 1969, she prepared a dinner for boxing great Rocky Marciano and his friends at the Buckingham Inn. Surviving are her sons, Ricky and Marco Zanetti; grandchildren, Monica and Antonio Zanetti; her sisters, Ketti Bergamaso, Stella Plateo and Antonieta Furlanis; her brothers, Franco and Tonino Furlanis. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Maria Teresa Zanetti. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 2, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with The Rev. Christopher Derda officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved her boys! www.henryfuneralhome.org
