Earl  R.  Wright, Age 88, Of Battle Creek, Died Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. Earl was born on November 9, 1923, in Danville, IL, the son of George S. and Alice D. (Lindroth) Wright. He had been a lifelong resident of the area and attended W.K. Kellogg Consolidated School in Hickory Corners. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during WWII. On October 20, 1946, he was united in marriage to the former Julia Ann Weeks who survives. Earl was employed at Ensign Printing for 32 years and then with Cello-Foil Products Inc. for 10 years retiring in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion Post #298. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting, fishing, gardening and was a very good all-around athlete especially in baseball.  Surviving are children, Dale Alan (Carolyn) Wright of Traverse City, MI, David Earl (Helene) Wright of Union City, MI and Jeanette A. “Jan” (Randall) Labrecque of Battle Creek; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; step-sister, Naomi (Jim) Marietta of Battle Creek; sisters, Charline (Ronald) May of Ceresco and Patricia A. Hull of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Jean Wright. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 26, 2012, at the funeral home with The Rev. Emily Joye McGaughy of the First Congregational Church officiating. Interment with full military honors will be held 12:00 p.m.,Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
