Earl Wood, Jr.

Earl H. Wood, Jr., Age 62, of Springfield, Died Saturday, August 12, 2017. Earl was born on July 25, 1955, in Battle Creek, the son of Earle H. and Lois (Young) Wood, Sr. He was a graduate of Union City High School and had been employed as a guard at the Air National Guard Base. On September 17, 1994, in Burlington, MI, he was united in marriage to the former Valerie J. Donathan, who survives. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, collecting eagles, Matchbox cars, fishing, hunting, model cars and puzzles. Surviving are his daughters, Heather (James) Kissinger of Springfield and Malory Donathan of Battle Creek; his mother, Lois Wood; a son-in-law, David Luna; grandchildren, Gage Mills, NaeLena Luna, MaKiaya Kissinger, Anell Luna, Lien Luna; step-grandchildren, Shirley and Tyler Kissinger.; great grandchild, Braxton Sperbeck. He was preceded in death by his father and a step-granddaughter, Tressa Kissinger. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at the Richard A. Henry funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
