E. Darlene (Faulk) Randall, 89, of Athens, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on August 16, 2023. She passed away at her home surrounded by family.
Darlene was born on February 24, 1934 to Lawrence and Edna (Gay) Faulk. She graduated from Athens High School in 1952 and married her high school sweetheart, James L. Randall, on June 10, 1953. Together they shared life, love, and laughter. They were in pastoral ministry together at Stringham Missionary Church, Pontiac, Michigan, for a total of 10 years. She worked at Michigan Indiana Bell until the birth of their first child in 1955. Their family grew to 6 children by 1964. In 1970, she began an over 30 year career as a Parapro at Athens Area Schools.
Darlene spent her life raising her family, supporting her husband as a pastor and teacher, and working at the school. She was a dedicated member of First Wesleyan / Woodland Church. She volunteered in many capacities, but her heart was always with the youth group where she served until the age of 85. Her life represented her love for God and her endless energy inspired others. Darlene loved playing cards with her family and participating in many sporting activities. She would rather be playing sports, especially softball, than watching. However, she wouldn’t miss an opportunity to watch her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in any of their sports and activities.
Darlene was preceded in death by her loving husband of 27 years, Rev. James L. Randall. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Edna (Gay) Faulk, her daughters, Andrea Randall-Hur and Carol Randall, her infant sister Beverly Faulk, her sister Betty Mann, and her brother Lawrence Faulk and his wife Patricia.
She will be greatly missed by her children: Constance Hamlin, Tae Hun Hur (d. Andrea), Ronald (Daniela) Randall, David (Jayne) Randall, Jamie (John) Henderson, and brother Theodore (June) Faulk, seventeen adoring grandchildren, and 15 precious great grandchildren, as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
To honor and celebrate her beautiful life, visitation will take place on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, located at 703 Capital Ave. SW, Battle Creek, MI.
A funeral service celebrating Darlene’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Woodland Church, located at 14425 Helmer Rd. S, Battle Creek, MI.
Darlene Randall’s legacy of giving, kindness, love, and devotion will forever be remembered in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm smile and gentle spirit touched the lives of many.
The family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Darlene’s name to Woodland Church of Battle Creek, MI.
