Dorothy Arlene Kajcienski, age 93, of Battle Creek, passed away on June 5, 2018 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born on January 27, 1925 in Athens, Michigan, the daughter of Donald and Hazel (Miller) Rench. She graduated from Lakeview High School in 1943. Throughout her life, Dorothy’s love and passion was her family; her husband, kids, sisters and brothers, grandkids, great grandkids, and nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed antiquing, gambling, and was an expert in her family’s genealogy.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Chester Frank Kajcienski on May 6, 1943 at St. Mary’s Church in Waco, Texas. She worked as a supervisor for the Kellogg Company for forty years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband; Chester Frank Kajcienski, sisters; Elvah Trethric, Ethel Rench, Doris Rench, Esther Jackson, Mildred Siddall, Beverly Critser, Marjorie Ismirle, brothers; Leo and Duane Rench, grandson; Todd Kajcienski. Dorothy is survived by her children; Don (Diane) Kajcienski of Las Vegas, NV., Debbie (Dave) Roberts of Myrtle Beach, SC., Greg Kajcienski of Battle Creek, Lisa (Greg) Shippell of Marshall, sisters; Donna (Alex) Clarkson of Battle Creek, Lois Worthington of Battle Creek, Janet Ellison of Battle Creek, grandchildren; Sean Kajcienski, Kyle Kajcienski, Michelle Power, Adam Roberts, Angela Vannewkirk, Zach Shippell, Matt Shippell, great grandchildren; Jacob Power, Aidan Power, Sean Paul Kajcienski, Ashley Kajcienski, Georgia Vannewkirk, Hazel Vannewkirk, Riley Kajcienski and Jake Kajcienski. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fr. Jose Haro, celebrant, interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
