Dorothy J. Head, 80, of Battle Creek passed away Monday August 6, 2012 at home. She was born on October 13, 1931 in Battle Creek to Stephen and Katie (Matosich) Mrozovich.
Dorothy graduated from St. Philip Catholic High School in 1950. She married Arthur W. Martin on January 7, 1956, he preceded her in death on June 13, 1976. Dorothy married William T. Head on August 4, 1979 and he preceded her in death on December 30, 1988. She was employed by Leila Hospital for 31 years as a unit clerk. Dorothy is survived by two sons, Mark S. (Ann) Martin and Robert A. (Sandra) Martin both of Battle Creek, five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ryan, Brian, Andrew, and Samantha, four great grandchildren, a brother, Louis (Dorothy) Mrozovich, of Battle Creek, and a special friend, Margaret Reed. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Donna Karaba, brothers, John, Michael, and Steve Mrozovich, also Michael and Eva who died in infancy. Dorothy enjoyed reading murder mysteries, playing bingo, and puzzles. She was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Monday August 13, 2012 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Deacon Wayne Corrion officiating. Family will receive friends one hour before services. Memorial contributions may be given to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice or Southwest Michigan Cancer Center
