Dorothy J. Gordier, 74, of Marshall passed away Tuesday November 5, 2013 at Oaklawn Hospital. She was born on March 11, 1939 in Quincy, MI to Paul D. and Margaret C. (Struble) Donahue.
Dorothy graduated from Pennfield High School in 1956. She was united in marriage to William Gordier Sr. in 1957.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, William Gordier Sr., and four children, Rebecca (Bob) Bonke, William (Anna) Gordier Jr., Anthony Gordier, and Malinda (Ivan) Colon, six grandchildren, one great grandchild, a brother, Kenneth (Louisa) Donahue, and her mother, Margaret C. Donahue, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a seven year cancer survivor and loved to cook for family and large gatherings. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, decorating, and taking care of her family.
She will be missed by all her friends and family members. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marshall.
Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm Thursday November 7, 2013 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 11am Friday November 8, 2013 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home, with The Very Rev. Mark J. Vyverman V.F. of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society.
