Doris Lockton

Doris M.  Lockton, Age 84, Of Battle Creek, Died Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Bronson Battle Creek. Doris was born on November 27, 1929, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Clyde and Bertha (Vinson) Petty. She had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Battle Creek High School. She worked as a secretary for the Battle Creek Public School retiring after 30 + years of service. She married Arthur Lockton who preceded her in death in 2011. She enjoyed camping at the Waffle Farm in Coldwater and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are children, Keith K. Lockton of Battle Creek, Thomas (Lorna) Lockton of Davenport, FL and Bonnie (Seibert) Davis of Battle Creek; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Lee Capron, Maurine Bunch and a brother, Kenneth Petty. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
