Doris Maxine Grimm, 91, originally from Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on August 30th, 2021. Doris was born November 28, 1929 in St Louis, Missouri. Doris was a long-time member of Central Christian Church, avid seamstress, and baker. Her most prominent role was that of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to those she loved. She is survived by her three children; Barb Smith (Jay), Diane Condon (Doug), and Ronald Grimm (Peg); grandchildren; Brandy Marmolejo (Erick), Sarah Morrow (Michael), Courtney Condon, Eva Grimm, Erin Shepard (Kevin) and Andrea Bakkila (Aaron); great grandchildren, Madison, Sidney, Brooklyn, Makayla, Taryn, Jaylen, Riley, Dominic, Leo and Zoë; and many other loving friends and family members. Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband, Glen Grimm; a sister, Fran Brown, and her mother and father, Tom and Amanda Collins. Doris will be remembered as a caring woman who enjoyed doing things for others. She loved baking cakes for every family member’s birthday, canning, sewing, and knitting. Doris made it a habit of putting others before herself, often showing care and concern for those around her. She was quick to offer a home cooked meal, whip up a batch of cookies or hand knit baby blankets and sweaters for new mothers. She volunteered a lot of her time and talents at her church, singing in the choir, preparing for special events and always bringing her baked goods to anyone who may have whispered a need. She also loved animals and had many pets through her years that gave her much happiness. An abundance of hugs, kisses and expressions of love for her family was constant. All her loved ones will remember her as a kind, helpful soul with an unconditionally giving spirit. Please join us in celebrating Doris’ life: funeral services are at 11am, Friday September 3, 2021, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home in Battle Creek, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Internment services will be held afterwards at Battle Creek Memorial Park. Contributions in memory of Doris may be made to Central Christian Church or Shriner’s Hospitals. www.henryfuneralhome.org
