Dorene Demott

Dorene D. DeMott age 89, of Battle Creek, passed away on January 6, 2018. She was born on February 20, 1928 in Marshall, the daughter of Clayton and Thelma (Ostrander) Hulce. Dorene graduated from Marshall High School, and following she attended beauty school. Dorene was united in marriage on December 11, 1948 to Alvin L. DeMott. She was employed by the Kellogg Company and was an usherette at the Marshall Theater. Dorene enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, watercolor, basket weaving, calligraphy, egg decorating and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband; Alvin DeMott in 1999, and a grandchild; Shalean in 1984. Surviving are her daughter; Colette (Jim) Johns of Vicksburg, sons; Harlan (Sandra) DeMott of Battle Creek, Yancy (Kathy) DeMott of Vicksburg, six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
