Donna Benedict

Donna Irene Benedict, age 87, of Battle Creek, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. She was born July 10, 1931 in Jackson, Michigan the daughter of Ralph Bigelow and Lottie (Baker) Lugar. Donna was a 1949 graduate of Hillsdale High School and retired from the Kellogg Company. On December 11, 1960 she was married to Harvey K. Benedict who preceded her in death on October 12, 2017. She was also preceded by her parents, daughter Susan Ralston, two sisters: Wanda Baird and Beverly Dykes, and brother Harold Lugar. Donna is survived by two daughters: Ann (Ken) Cilley of Battle Creek and Janet (Timothy) Mantei of Butte, North Dakota, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law: Charlotte Lugar and June Benedict; brother-in-law Howard Dykes; several nieces and nephews.  A Graveside Service to celebrate both Donna and Harvey’s lives’ will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery with their son-in-law Rev. Timothy Mantei officiating. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home prior to the service on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., to honor the lives of both Donna and Harvey.
