Donald Williams

Donald M. Williams, age 78, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017. He was born April 21, 1938 in Flint, Michigan the son of Alva M. and Clara R. (Reynolds) Williams. Don served in the U.S. Army, worked for the State of Michigan Highway Department and retired in 1998 from Rieth Riley as the office/parts manager. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and loved to read. On August 11, 1962 he was married to Gretchen A. (Nieuwkoop) who survives. Also surviving are three children: Jeff (Mary) Williams of Battle Creek, Lori (Paulo) Holguin of Battle Creek and Shari (Jim) Murray of Clarkston; seven grandchildren: Rachael, Katelyn, Devin, Brendan, Abbey, Jenna and Haley; and one great-grandson Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Darrell Williams. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas C. Townsend of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
