Donald M. Norton, Age 89, Of Battle Creek, Died Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Countryside Adult foster Care Home. Donald was born on June 30, 1926, in Nashville, MI, the son of Maurice and Ruby (Mayo) Norton. He was a veteran serving during WWII and 2 tours in Vietnam. He served in the U.S. Navy (Seabees) from 1943 to 1945, then in the U.S. Army from 1947 until his retirement in 1972 as a Master Sergeant. He was then employed with the Michigan Department of Transportation (state garage in Battle Creek) from 1974 to 1987. He was united in marriage to the former Marianne Glasour, who survives. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion. Donald enjoyed riding motorcycles and traveling in his RV. Surviving is a son, Charles “Mike” and his wife Shari Norton of Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Victoria “Tori” and Alexandria “Allie” Norton of Arlington, TX. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Richard Norton and a sister, Barbara J. Hart. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2015, at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will be held 11:30 a.m., Monday at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
