Donald R. Leslie, Age 90, Of Fulton, MI, Passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. Don was born on June 16, 1925 in Hastings, MI, the son of Robert and Ethel (Smith) Leslie. The family moved to Battle Creek, MI, where he attended Battle Creek Central High School. At age 17 he left to join the U.S Marine Corps and served in the 4th Marine Corps Division during WWII. On June 19, 1946, he was united in marriage to the former Shirley F. Tassainer who preceded him in death in 2008. Don was employed as a Foreman and machinist at Eaton Corporation for 31 years retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry work and cutting wood. Surviving are sons, Robert(Jan) Leslie of Cincinnati, OH, Ronald (Penny) Leslie of Portage, MI and Timothy (Jody) Leslie of Athens, MI; a daughter, Lisa (Bill) Brennan of Lapeer, MI; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Tracie Leslie. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Leslie; a great grandson, Jacob; a brother, Alvin Leslie; sisters, Evelyn Brown, Pearl Westrick and Pat Johnson. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 5 to 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1312 Capital Ave. SW, Battle Creek, with Bishop John Taylor officiating.
