Dianne M. (Perry) McDill age 77, of Battle Creek, passed away on March 11, 2017. Dianne was born on December 17, 1939 in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Hartsel and Bethayne (Tomlinson) Perry. She was united in marriage to David M. McDill on January 1, 1960 in Davenport, Iowa, and then moved to Battle Creek in 1964, when her husband took a job with Harper Creek High School. They lived in Battle Creek for nearly forty years. Dianne was employed as a secretary at the Clark Equipment Company, sales associate for New Image clothing retailer, and an accountant at the Battle Creek Friends Church for approximately ten years. Dianne and her husband, Dave were members at the Battle Creek Friends church, she assisted her husband in teaching and leading the “Mixed Bag” Sunday school class for over thirty years. Dianne participated in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) and was in leadership for BSF during the 1980’s. She also participated in Gideons, church choir, and the Friends Church day care program. She went on the church’s missionary trip to the Dominican Republic, and was a supporter for the Republican Party. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, Bible study, cross stitch, stamping/card making, going on fall color tours, playing the piano and singing. One of Dianne's main hobbies was supporting and assisting her husband, Dave in his hobbies, crafts, and adventures. Dianne loved the Colorado Rockies and enjoyed touring and jeeping thoughout them. She had a real love for animals, especially ones that might be “unreachable” including dogs and cats that were feral or abused. She was preceded in death by her husband, David M. McDill in 2010. For the past six years Dianne resided in Colorado with her daughter, Erin. Surviving are her daughters; Michelle “ Miki” Holder of Galesburg, MI., Heather Sauer of Lake Sherwood, MO., and Erin (Brian) Johnson of Bailey CO., brothers; Duane (Linda) Perry of North Branch, MN., Dave (Jan) Perry of Lafayette, CO., sister- in-law and friend, Pat McDill Taylor of Gastonia, NC., ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Battle Creek Friends Church, with interment to follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
