Dewey Hickman

Dewey “Beecher” Hickman, age 71 of Battle Creek, died Friday, July 6, 2012 at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born February 20, 1941 in Dayton, Tennessee the son of Claude and Minnie (Collins) Hickman. Beecher was a local musician who played in many bands in the area and loved to go for rides in the country. Surviving are his children: LaDonna Vary, Teresa (Kevin) Lee, April Blackstone, Raqueel Hickman, Cody DeVore, Christine (Lance) Anderson, Jerry DeVore and Tony (Michelle) DeVore; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one brother, Junior Hickman. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Chester Hickman. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
