Dennis L. Seivert, age 86, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 22, 2025. He was born on January 18, 1939, in Battle Creek, Michigan, the son of Dewey and Laurena (Voss) Seivert. Dennis was a lifelong Battle Creek resident, graduating from Springfield High School in 1957. He was part of the first graduating class of Springfield. During his school years, Dennis was an all-around athlete, receiving numerous awards and recognition from Springfield High School for football, baseball, and basketball. Following graduation, he served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964. Dennis was united in marriage on January 17, 1964, to Annemarie “Linda” Beuchert, she preceded him in death after 52 wonderful years of marriage on November 23, 2016. Dennis previously worked for the Michigan Carton Company, built homes in the Battle Creek area, and worked as a printer at Kalpaco, the printing division of the Kellogg Company, for 29 years before retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. Following his retirement, he delivered flowers for his son's business, Seivert's Floral for many years. Dennis loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Both Dennis and his wife, Linda, made many memories of hunting and ice fishing trips together with their close friends. He also enjoyed working at the families’ local auction sales and going to Firekeeper’s Casino to play the slots with Denny, Sean and his special niece, Sparky. Dennis along with his family enjoyed traveling, visiting family in Germany and vacationing around the United States. He and his wife lived for over 60 years on Newtown Avenue, and was known for always entertaining family, friends, and neighbors with their many gatherings and pool parties. Dennis was preceded in death by his loving wife Linda, his parents, sisters; Wilma Seivert, Betty Marsh, Phyllis Neubert, Arlene Swaney, Alverna Head, Beverly Smith, and a brother George Seivert. Surviving is his son, Denny Paul (Sean Burke) Seivert, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends for a time to share stories and memories from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A Celebration of Dennis’ Life will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 31, 2025, at the funeral home, Pastor Nathaniel Craddock of First Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Dennis’ memory may be made to Compasses Hospice, American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Denny and Sean would like to extend a special thank you and gratitude to Sparky, Andrea, Terry, Rachel and Kyleigh for the care and love they provided to Dennis.
