Dennis “Chalky” Dyer, age 75 of Battle Creek, died Friday, August 7, 2020 surrounded by family at his home. He was born March 5, 1945 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Garland Eugene and Ruth Thelma (Wilkey) Dyer. Denny graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1964 and worked at Post Cereals for 36 years retiring in 2000. He enjoyed all sports but especially shooting pool, bowling, and playing softball. He was a fan of the New York Yankees and loved music and dancing. On September 1, 1977 he was married to Rebecca “Becky” (Jones), who survives. Also surviving are his children: Denee Dyer and Brent Dyer; six grandchildren which his world revolved around: Jimmy Jackson, Kadim and Kalin Worthington, Hunter, Haley and Becky Dyer; his beloved great-grandson: Mason Williams; brother Max Dyer; two sisters: Rebecca (Mike) Doren and Pamela Ward; many nieces and nephews, and his dog Tinkerbell. Denny was preceded in death by his grandmother Bertha Martin “Little Ma”, his father Garland Dyer; his mother Ruth Burke and three brothers: Michael, Ronald, and David Dyer.
