Battle Creek - Della Marie (Brown) Carr, 77, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2021. She was born June 20, 1944, to Charles Brown and Margaret (Salters), in Battle Creek, Michigan. Della had two brothers, Dennis Brown (1984) and Richard Brown (2018) all who proceed her in death. She attend Harper Creek High school, graduating in 1961.
After high school Della married Donald Carr and had three daughters. Later divorcing also proceeding her in death, but staying very close friends. She went to work for Interbake Foods until the factory closed down 1989. She then went to work for Battle Creek Public Schools as a school bus driver until health reasons and was unable to work. She later went to live with her daughter Dawn, and spent all her time with her grandchildren.
Della is survived by her three daughters, Dawn Warren, Lynn Wilder (Kevin) and Margo Maye (Wendell), and seven grandchildren along with eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews who referred to her as their favorite aunt. She was always surrounded by her grandchildren who she was known as “Granny”. She was loved and adored by them, and she also loved and adored them.
Della will be truly missed by her many friends, but especially her family. Although she never met a stranger, once you met her, you were her friend for life. She is known as the nicest person you ever want to meet. To her daughters, they have lost Mom and will honor her memory together forever.
After Cremation, the family will hold a private memorial service to be determined. Donation may be made to Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence.
