Debra M. Decowski, 32, of Battle Creek passed away Sunday Jan. 8, 2012 at home. She was born on June 8, 1979 in Orange, TX. Debra graduated from Pennfield High School in 1997 and then attended KCC and Davenport College. She was a certified nurse’s aide and had been employed by Marshall Nursing and Rehab Community, Lifespan, and Battle Creek Health System.
Debra is survived by her sons, Zachary and Aiden Clements, a brother, David Decowski, of Charlotte, MI; her mother, Gail and step-father Roger Kevern, of East Leroy, step-sister, Keri Kevern, of Williamsburg, KY; her maternal grandmother, Beatrice Snyder, of Battle Creek, uncles, Edward Hursley, and Larry (Lisa) Hursley, and her aunt, Annette (Jeff) Altena.
She enjoyed scrapbooking, flower gardening, and her cats. Debra was an avid fan of Michigan State and the Dallas Cowboys.
Family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm Thursday Jan. 12, 2012 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home where services will be held at 10 am Friday with Pastor Brian Scramlin officiating. Interment will follow at Morgan Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to her children’s memorial fund in c/o Gail Kevern.
