Deanna Hamilton

Deanna L. Hamilton, age 78, of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, April 12, 2019 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born June 4, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Donald and Bernice (Edwards) Nelson. A resident of Battle Creek since 2004, Deanna was a volunteer with Lifespan Hospice for ten years, had been the activities director at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility for several years and most recently was activities director at Riverbend in Grand Blanc. She was known at “Lunch Gram” in the lunch room at Endeavor Charter Academy, was an avid sports Gram who loved to watch her grandchildren’s games and was a University of Michigan fan. On September 22, 1973 she was married to Steven Hamilton who preceded her in death on August 15, 2004.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, first husband Bob Reeves, sister Charlene Woody, sister and brother in law Sharon and Gerald Zandi, brother Donald Nelson and brother in law Bob Hawley. Deanna is survived by her children: Theresa (William) Nofs, Kathy (David) Condon, Robert (Michele Russell) Hamilton, Beth (Rodney) Russell, Sherri Antrobus, Selena (Michael) Rambo, Mary Hirdning and Karen Hicks; grandchildren: Amy & Bob Chaney, Theo Nofs, Jimmy Nofs & Kaelyn Leonard, Michael & Angela Condon, Ashley Condon & Billie Robbins, Kaycee Condon & Alex O’Connell, Robert & Lacey Hamilton, Courtney Russell & Elijah Pease, Zac Russell & Chelsea Kroll, Charles Antrobus, William Antrobus, Daniel & Lena Rambo and Joshua Rambo; great-grandchildren: Curtis Gillespie, Emma Hamilton, Robert Hamilton, Aiden Condon and Mason Condon; sister Kathryn Hawley; brother Robert (Linda) Nelson; sister in law Lynn Nelson; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice Care of S.W.
