David Simpson

David Lynn Simpson, Age 74, Of Battle Creek, Passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born May 30, 1940, in Battle Creek, the son of Oscar and Joyce (Lancaster) Simpson. He attended Battle Creek Public Schools. David was self-employed owning Simpson Excavating for many years, doing a lot of work for HUD homes, over the road trucking, setting up the MRI units for KNI, building several homes in the area and building custom cabinets. He married Linda Garber and they divorced in 1983. He then married Beverly (Lescohier) Clevenger on March 16, 1984 and she survives. He is survived by a son, Scott (Carrie) Simpson of Brownsburg, IN; a granddaughter, Clara Simpson in Carmel, IN and a grandson, Chandler Simpson with the Army stationed in Colorado; a son-in-law, Todd Massidda from Mclean, VA and granddaughters, Lyndsie in the Seattle area, Danielle (Derek) Stationed in Naples, Italy and Chad Massidda in Stratham, NH; a brother, Larry (Iris) and half- sister, Nancy Norton. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and a 30 year member of Riverside Country Club and had the first hole in one in 2008. He enjoyed his noon lunches at Luxes every Tuesday and Thursday with his golfing buddies. He also took great pride in his yard. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Kimberly Massidda and a brother, Scott. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 7:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at the funeral home with The Rev. Thomas J. Ott officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church or a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements by the Richard A.
