David S. Potter, son of the late Jack E. Potter and the late Guila R. Potter, passed away suddenly at the age of 68 on Monday, February 1, 2016. David was a graduate of Lakeview High School. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1972 after serving 4 years on the U.S.S. Enterprise. David was a Technician at Eaton Proving Grounds in Marshall, MI for 35 years and retired in 2006. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, but his favorite past time was taking his 1965 Shelby Cobra to car shows and taking everyone he could for a ride in his “baby”. David is survived by his wife, Sharon (Squires) Potter, his daughter Carrie (Adam) Hogue of Bonita Springs, FL, his daughter Shannon Potter of Naples, FL, his son Robby (Deb) Potter of Battle Creek, MI, his step-son Rick (Barb) Squires of Battle Creek, MI, his step-daughter Darcy (Derek) Williamson of Battle Creek, MI, and his step-daughter Amanda Brown of Lehigh Acres, FL. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren. He was especially close to his grandchildren Kayla Squires, Kelsey Brown, Robert Potter, William Potter, Tegan Potter, and Ryan McCloskey. Visitation will be 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7th at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2016 at the funeral home with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
