David Mcwhorter

David Kensley  McWhorter, Age 78, Of Battle Creek, Died Sunday, February 10, 2013. David was born September 24, 1934, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Joseph and Maybette (Grolms) McWhorter. He moved to San Antonio, Texas, when he was 14 and attended the Texas Military Institute. On April 10, 1954, he married Joan Katherine Yates and they moved to Battle Creek. He was employed by the A & P Company for thirteen years and the Kellogg Company for 26 years, retiring in 1994. David was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. He is survived by his wife Joan of 58 years; a son, David Edward McWhorter  and a daughter,  Betsy (Ron) Leatherman; grandchildren, Kelly and Emily. Visitation will be held today from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate David’s life will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Weesner of Garrison Hills Wesleyan officiating.
