David Mcleod

David (Dave) John McLeod, age 75, a lifelong Battle Creek resident passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, May 23rd, 2021 at Glenn Arbor Hospice House after a recent cancer diagnosis.

Dave was born June 3rd, 1945 in Battle Creek, the son of Nelson McLeod and Betty (Stickley) (McLeod) Noud. He graduated from Pennfield High School in 1963. Dave retired from Kellogg’s after 28 years. David married Linda L Rodgers August 21st, 1965. The couple was blessed with one daughter, and two grandchildren.

Dave enjoyed working on tractors in his garage, fly fishing, coffee with his buddies, going to the casino with his sister, and spending Sunday afternoons with her. Dave also enjoyed long talks with his daughter on the front porch. David absolutely adored his grandchildren who called him “Papa” and he loved watching them grow up.

Dave is survived by his daughter, Lisa Hawthorne, son-in-law, Russell Hawthorne, and two grandchildren; Braden and Lindsey Hawthorne; his sister, Sue Baggerly, and brother-in-law, Charlie Baggerly; nieces Lori (Kevin) Leiter, and Linda (Greg) Ortiz. David was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Betty; his step father, Jack Noud; an infant brother, Bruce McLeod; and his wife, Linda.

At David’s request cremation has taken place and no services are being held. Arrangements were made by Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Memorial donations may be made to Glenn Arbor Hospice House of Southwest Michigan.
