David R. Leatherman, 59, of Ceresco, MI, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 27th 2015. Dave is survived by his daughter Pam (Ben) Feret, daughter Deniece (Jack) Scrimger, brother Dan (Pam) Leatherman, sister Diane Brown, and sister Barbara Allen, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Dave graduated from Harper Creek High School in 1973 where he wrestled and was captain of the golf team. Upon graduating, Dave was employed at Post Cereal where he later retired from after 35 amazing years. Dave enjoyed creating beautiful masterpieces out of stained glass and loved sharing them with those he held close to him. When he put his mind to something, there was no stopping him as shown by teaching himself how to manipulate glass into art. Living on Lee Lake for most of his adult life, he enjoyed fishing all year round and had enjoyed teaching his daughters to fish. His true passion throughout his life was playing golf whenever he could. In his golf career, he had 3 hole in ones and was able to watch the greats in person at the Masters Championship in Augusta, Georgia. His love of sports didn't stop at golf, he enjoyed High School Football, the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, and the University of Michigan Football. If Dave was not watching or playing sports, he could be found listening to music or tinkering with his 1955 Chevy Bel Air. Dave never tired in talking about his two daughters and how proud he was. Both had recently graduated college, Deniece has opened her own daycare in Battle Creek while Pam was recently promoted at Target HQ in Minneapolis where she has been for 13 years. Dave's house was filled with pictures and keepsakes that reminded him of his girls and his appreciation of them was well known by all his friends. Dave had recently started attending Crossroads Church and Ministries in Marshall, MI, where he was embraced and loved by those who attended. He enjoyed chats after service with many members of the church and expressed interest in helping those in the community. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home in Battle Creek on Friday, March 6th. Memorial donations may be made to his daughters Pam Feret and Deniece Scrimger
