Darlene Ruth Mayo, Age 86, Of Battle Creek, Died Monday, April 17, 2017, at Evergreen Senior Care and Rehab. Darlene was born on January 19, 1931, in Battle Creek. She had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Battle Creek Central in 1949. In 1950 she was united in marriage to Mason D. Mayo who survives. Darlene was a lifetime member of Christ United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing and going with Mason to the American Legion. Surviving are 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; a sister, Maxine LaCoy of Florida and a brother-in-law, Bill (Elizabeth) Mayo of Texas. She was preceded in death by three children, Sheila Wilson, Shayne Campbell and Howard Mayo. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A private interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
