Darby Landel McMillon Sr, 51, of Springfield peacefully passed away in his sleep on April 7 th , 2022. He was born in Battle Creek, MI to Clarence Landel McMillon and Helen Esther Leboeuf. Darby was always known as the life of the party. He grew up with a love of NASCAR, hunting, fishing, cars, and family.
Darby attended Springfield High School. Upon graduating, he joined the Marines and served as an engineer equipment mechanic.
Darby was fiercely passionate about automotives from the start and dedicated his life to his work as a mechanic. His specialty was transmission work and had an interest in racing cars.
Darby went on to have three children he loved and cared for. He had immense pride in their accomplishments. His children went on to pursue careers in finance, aviation, and the military. Darby had so much pride and joy watching his two grandsons grow.
Besides his grandparents, Darby was preceded in death by his mother; Helen Leboeuf, stepfather Ed Leboeuf, and sister Becky Carbine. He leaves behind children Casandra (Ryan) Murray of Battle Creek, Courtney (Garrett) Page of Midland, and Darby (Lindsay) McMillon Jr. of Indianapolis; Grandchildren Hayden Hamilton and Ripley Murray; Sisters Angie McMillon, Danae (Sam) McMillon and Sherry (Todd) Gearhart, Father Clarence McMillon, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 15, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday April 16, 2022 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Darby’s memory to Alcoholics Anonymous.
