Danny Burleson

Danny “Big Dawg” Burleson, age 69, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017. He was born January 23, 1948 in Empire, Alabama the son of William Thomas and Louise K. (Heard) Burleson. Dan attended Pennfield schools and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Laborers Union Local 355, Carpenters Union, National Rifle Association and American Motorcycle Association, and retired from the V.A. Medical Center where he worked as a carpenter and locksmith. Dan spent winters in Arizona and loved to shoot and pick up brass in the mountains. He also enjoyed fishing, racing and riding his Harley. On March 17, 2010 he was married to Christine A. (Stouder) who survives. Also surviving are his daughter Shelly (Don) Hueckel of Nashville, granddaughter Ashly Hueckel, two great grandchildren: Austin and Allie, niece Krista Moore, nephew Robert Burleson and great nephew Austin Burleson. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Amy Thompson and sister Tommie Innes. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and brothers. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 8, 2017 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with interment following at Hicks Cemetery.
