Daniel Verhest

Daniel Allan Verhest, age 17, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015. He was born November 4, 1997 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Brian A. and Dawn M. (Wiley) Verhest. Daniel attended Pennfield schools, liked to hunt and fish, enjoyed sports especially baseball, collected shoes and loved to watch and play his favorite sport, Lacrosse. He is survived by his parents; brother Tyler Baker and sister Nicole Baker; grandmother Sharon Verhest; grandfather Richard (Marilyn) Wiley; grandfather Thom Baker; aunts and uncles: Judy & Tom Beckwith, Jeanne Verhest-Usrey, Bonnie & Frank Stam, Linda & Roland Ferris, Larry & Kathy Burdick, Bruce Burdick, Craig Wiley and Dane Wiley; and many cousins. Daniel was preceded in death by Grandmother Lori Schlick, Grandfather Dan Verhest, great grandmothers: Louise Tobias-Hermenitt, Ina Verhest and Thelma Beatty; and great grandfathers: Gus Verhest, Earl Burdick, Toby Tobias and Otis Hermenitt; great great uncle, Wilbur Carlisle. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with interment to follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. www.henryfuneralhome.org
