Dale Traister

Dale E. Traister, Age 79, Of Battle Creek, Died Monday, June 30, 2014, at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. Dale was born on December 30, 1934, in Battle Creek, MI, the son of Roy E. and Evelyn R. (Wenninger) Traister. He had been a lifelong area resident and attended Battle Creek Central High School.  He and Mary had wintered the last 20 years in Florida. Dale was employed with Post Cereals in the carton and container department for 39 years retiring in 1992. On February 22, 1975, he was united in marriage to the former Mary L. Whyle who survives.  Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, running, horseshoes, riding his bike, softball, golf and watching sports on television. Also surviving are children, Denise Traister, Diane Himebaugh, Steve Traister, Sandra Ruempel and David Traister; 6 grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; a step-sister, Doris Wilder, half-sister, Janice Teller and step-brother, Don Anderson. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Guest Traister; a brother, Ralph Traister, sisters, Lois Hickson and Bev Hallock; a step-brother, Larry Anderson. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 7, 2014, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2:00 p.m.  Inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. www.henryfuneralhome.org
