Dale T. Sinclair 88, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully at Bronson Battle Creek on October 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 9, 1935 in Hammond, West Virginia, the son of William and Opal (Bowner) Sinclair. His family moved to Battle Creek, MI in 1946. A 1953 graduate of Lakeview High School. He went to work for Walt York Construction Company where he learned the skill of building houses. When Walt York Construction closed he went to work for Imperial Carpet and Tile, installing carpet and all different types of flooring. He was a proud member of the Carpenters Union, retiring from the floor installation business.
On April 21, 1956 he married Beatrice E. (Bennett) Sinclair at Sonoma United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his children: Carla (Alan) Berner of Battle Creek, Dale (Linda) Sinclair of Marshall and Terrie (Dave) Belote of Battle Creek. Grandchildren: Corine Berner, Kalvin (Jessica) Berner, Heather Duff (John Keeler), Dan Sinclair, Spencer (Maris) Sellers, Logan (Stephanie) Sellers, Drew Nesbitt (Liz Briscoe), Cody (Hannah) Belote, Cady Belote (Garrick Ehrnstrom), Zach (Kiersten) Dembski, David Chapman. Twenty six great grandchildren. Sisters: Ruth Slotuik and Sharon Sinclair both in Charleston, SC. His girlfriend/companion: Lonna Pickett. Several nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, wife, granddaughter: Mindy Perry, brother: William Sinclair II sisters: Wilma Sipe an Aileen Spooner.
He enjoyed golfing everyday until he suffered a stroke and was unable to play anymore, he enjoyed golfing in Cedar Creeks Golf Outing called “Give Them The Bird”. He took great pride in knowing he had golfed in every one of those outings until his stroke in 2017. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching/feeding the birds from the hummingbirds to the pair of Sandhill Cranes who came every year. He loved watching every John Wayne movie that was ever made. Dale also enjoyed watching NASCAR, college football, bowling and baseball. His enjoyed old country music as well as classical music. His all time favorite thing in recent years was helping his daughter Terrie build corn hole boards.
The family will receive family and friends at Richard Henry Funeral Home on October 24, 2023; family from 4:00pm - 5:00pm and friends from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. A private service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in the chapel for family and close friends on October 25, 2023 at 11:00am. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to West Michigan Legends Baseball. www.henryfuneralhome.org
