Dale Pier

Dale D. Pier, age 76, of Battle Creek, died Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. He was born September 26, 1938 in Ann Arbor, Michigan the son of Clarence and Iola (Caryl) Pier. Dale served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Michigan Air National Guard with over 20 years of service. He is survived by his wife: Jacqueline “Jackie” Pier; three children: Timothy (Gillian) Pier, Scott (Linda) Pier and Kelly (Joseph) Troxtel; five step-children: Theodore Kurnat, Victoria (Robert) Hirschboeck, Anthony (Susan) Kurnat, Darren (Marlayna) Shailor and Mark (Jill) Shailor; two sisters: Suzanne (Gaylord) Goucher and Ellen Fiske; many grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his first wife: Mary Connelly Pier; brother: Richard Pier and his parents. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend, please meet in the assembly area prior to the service.
